SPLIT ENDS! they keep coming pleaseee help!!!!?

can you stop and mend split ends? i am dyeing my hair now and im hoping it will soften and improve the quality of my hair do you believe this could work i am stoping straightening my hair so i can stop split ends should i go to the hair dressers after i have dyed it .. please tell me .. or give me dvice for split ends or links thank you xxxx
